Prince Serg was the son of Emperor Ezar and the father of Emperor Gregor.

He was a close friend of Vorrutyer, who instructed the Prince in the arts of sadism and sadistic practices. Serg soon surpassed Vorrutyer in his deprivations.

After the conception of Gregor, Emperor Ezar held his hand over Princess Kareen, Serg's wife, and their son in protection.

Serg's determined self-interest and his continueing depraved activities soon convinced Emperor Ezar that he had to be removed. The Emperor plotted with Captain Negri and Aral Vorkosigan to have Prince Serg killed.

The Prince was placed in charge of the Escobar invasion, but was not informed of the existance of Plasma Mirrors, a fact known to the Emperor and his small closed circle of planners. Charging towards Escobar Prince Serg's ship managed to destroy itself when it fired at Plasma Mirror equipped Escobarran ships.

The Prince was given a hero's funeral. His depraved actions and enjoyments have never been released to the public and are only known to very few people.
