A plasma arc is a high energy weapon that fires an extremely hot and energetic bolt of plasma.

Plasma arcs are available from hand-held up to and including ship mounted form.

A hit by a plasma arc bolt results in extreme heating of the affected area causing burning, melting or vaporisation. Objects nearby are also affected by the bolt and may melt or catch fire.

Until the invention of the Plasma Mirror, Plasma Arcs were the primary ship-mounted weapons, they are replaced by Gravitic Imploder Lances. The smaller hand-held forms are still in use.
