Artificial gravity was invented over two hundred years ago on Beta Colony and one of its first major applications was in the construction and eventual running of Kline Station.

Artificial gravity is a pseudo gravity field that allows humans and animals to live in space without muscle deterioration or the other inconveniences of free-fall.

This pseudo gravity effect is generated by an interaction of five-space and three-space forces, termed a "five-space/three-space interface phenomenon".

The principle is distantly related to that used for Gravitic Imploder Lances.
